Mrs. Barbara Watts, grand aunt of Frank Watts and who was his godmother, died at his home this week, aged 97 years.

She was of good old Kentucky stock born in 1802, married to August Watts in Kentucky in 1820, moved to Missouri in the 40s, where the family lived until the death of her husband in 1870. Then in 1880, having no children of her own she came here with Frank Watts and peacefully lived out her days. She was, at the death, the oldest person in the county, having lived under all the presidents except Washington. She had a very vivid memory of the most stirring times of this country's history. The funeral services conducted by Rev. McFarland were held Thursday afternoon.
